Tijuana Service Trip 2006
About Us
We are students from Wayne State, Oakland University and University of Michigan (Ann Arbor and Dearborn) brought together through our campus ministry programs to spend our "Spring Break" making a diference in the lives of individuals and society. We are young men and women who are full time students, work 20-40 hours per week, live on campus, with family or on our own. We take our responsibilities seriously - especially the Gospel call to care for the poor.
What We Do
For the third year we will be traveling to Tijuana, Mexico to live and work at a homeless shelter operated by the Scalabrini Fathers. Like those who live in the shelter we work long days in the local community weatherproofing homes, caring for orphans, and the elderly. Even digging ditches - whatever is needed. During our seven days we develop meaningful and lasting relationships with one another and those who live in the community.
